DomainDNSMX

DNS and MX

The DNS and MX option on the control panel let you set some of the general options for your domain name. Most of these should be left as the defaults unless you know what you are doing and understand how DNS works.

Primary MX

Changing this allows you to host your own email server, rather than using the default one. Changing this from default will disable all email options such as mailboxes, mail groups and mailing lists.

Other MX (backup) servers

This allows you to set up another server as a backup incase your hosting companies' servers fail or unaccessable. Most hosters will already have backups in place and this should not be needed.

Domain root TXT record and record2

These settings are mostly for human readable information in the domain table, but can also be used to set things such as SPF records and domainkeys.
